I’ve fell to this sin before. Many have, the word of God has the answer for this problem. Lusting can lead to masturbation, fornication, adultery, bestiality, incest, sodomy, and rape. Let’s look at the scriptures.
What does it mean to lust?
Look at the 2nd definition on the verb and the noun.
Warned against lusting
Proverbs 6:25 KJV
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Matthew 5:28 KJV
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
- We are not to lust after women. Women should not lust after men. The Bible says the man that lusts after a woman commits adultery in his heart.
- If a woman or man is wearing revealing clothing, don’t look. You can look away. When someone tries to show you women or men in revealing clothing on their cellphone, look away.
- Lusting will lead to this things below
Masturbation
- Some claim this is not a sin. This word is not found in the Bible. But I have some scripture on this.
Genesis 38:8-10 KJV
And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. [9] And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. [10] And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.
- What did Onan do? He spilled his seed on the ground and it displeased the LORD. The LORD killed him for it.
- God is the author of intercourse. He created it to be between a man and woman who are married.
Genesis 2:24 KJV
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
- You think God wants you to be looking at pornography? No, you commit adultery every time you lust.
Matthew 5:28 KJV
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Fornication
- Out the heart of men proceeds fornication. Their heart burns with lust.
Mark 7:20-22 KJV
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. [21] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, [22] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
What is fornication?
Formication is when unmarried people have intercourse.
- The Gentiles were also commanded to abstain from formication.
Acts 15:20 KJV
But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
Acts 15:29 KJV
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Acts 21:25 KJV
As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
- The Lord makes it clear that the body is not for fornication.
1 Corinthians 6:13 KJV
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
- How can fight fornication? By fleeing.
1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
- Again your body belongs to the Lord.
- The word of God gives you more defenses against fornication.
1 Corinthians 7:1-2 KJV
Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. [2] Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- Fornication is a work of the flesh.
Galatians 5:19 KJV
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Colossians 3:5 KJV
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
- Abstain from fornication
1 Thessalonians 4:3 KJV
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
Ephesians 5:3 KJV
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
- What else can happen when your fornicating? You can get an STD.
Adultery
People who commit adultery are:
- Married and having relations or intercourse with an unmarried person
- Married and having relations or intercourse with a married person who is not their spouse
- Unmarried and having relations or intercourse with a married person
If someone is married, do not try to get in a relationship with them. Stay away brothers and sisters. Adultery is not pleasing to God.
Exodus 20:14 KJV
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Deuteronomy 5:18 KJV
Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
- If you lust after a woman, you have already committed adultery. Vice versa.
Matthew 5:27-28 KJV
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: [28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
- King David lusted after a woman after he saw her washing herself.
2 Samuel 11:2 KJV
And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
- King David then slept with another man’s wife.
2 Samuel 11:3-4 KJV
And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath–sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? [4] And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
- King David then had Uriah placed in a tough battle so he would killed.
2 Samuel 11:15 KJV
And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
Incest
- These people have relations or intercourse with their family members.
Leviticus 18:6 KJV
None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.
- Their is a lot of scripture on this:

[11] The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. [12] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: she is thy father’s near kinswoman. [13] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: for she is thy mother’s near kinswoman. [14] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. Leviticus 20:17 KJV
And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
- The Bible says they are cursed
Deuteronomy 27:20,22-23 KJV
Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen. [22] Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen. [23] Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.
- In the church in Corinth, a man fornicated with his father’s wife.
1 Corinthians 5:1 KJV
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
- What happens when an incestous relationship leads to children? An increased risk of genetic disorders. Why does this happen? Because God is not for this wickedness. Look at Deuteronomy 27:20-23.
Sodomy
Sodomy is called a crime against nature in Websters 1828 dictionary. In 1960, sodomy was illegal in every U.S. state. As of 2023 their are only 14 states with sodomy laws. Sodomy is a perverted practice.
They called themeselves “gay” but gay means happy. The appropriate term for them in sodomite.
Deuteronomy 23:17 KJV
There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
- The term sodomite comes from the people of Sodom in the Bible
Genesis 19:1 KJV
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
- They tried to have intercourse with angels.
Genesis 19:5 KJV
And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
- Just like the sons of Belial
Judges 19:22 KJV
Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.
- Someone going to see this and say “They weren’t trying to rape them” “They were just trying to get to know them” Okay, explain this:
Genesis 19:8 KJV
Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
- Why did Lot offer his daughters to the men? The text says his “daughters which have not known man”
- Is Lot not a man? He is a man! The text is saying Lot’s daughter were virgins.
- WAIT, there’s more!
Genesis 4:1-2 KJV
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. [2] And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
- Adam knew Eve and she conceived. What does this mean? They had relations and she got pregnant.
Genesis 4:17 KJV
And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Genesis 4:25 KJV
And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
- Look at the scriptures below, They burned in their lust toward one another. Men with men and women with women.
Romans 1:26-27 KJV
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: [27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
- What happens when these sodomites have relations? HIV
- God punishes these people.
Bestiality
- These people who commit bestiality have relations with a beast. It is truly sickening.
Exodus 22:19 KJV
Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
Leviticus 18:23 KJV
Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
Leviticus 20:15-16 KJV
And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. [16] And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
- Here is says they are cursed
Deuteronomy 27:21 KJV
Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.
- It gets worse and worse as we look deeper into this topic of lust.
Rape
- This is the sickest and lowest I believe someone with lust can go. They force women and children to have relations with them against their will. This has happened in the scriptures.
Deuteronomy 22:25 KJV
But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:
- This woman was raped by the sons of Belial. At first they wanted to have relations with another man.
Judges 19:22-26 KJV
Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him. - The man foolishly offered his daughter to the men. They abused her all night.
- Ammon who was King David’s son began to lust after his sister.
2 Samuel 13:1-2 KJV
And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. [2] And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.
- He committed incest and raped his own sister.
2 Samuel 13:11-15 KJV
And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister. [12] And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly. [13] And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee. [14] Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her. [15] Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
- Absalom hated Amnon because he raped his sister.
2 Samuel 13:22 KJV
And Absalom spake unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
- Remember lust is not pleasing to the Lord and neither is any of these other sins.
